People who were responsible for creating CgHub, have open a new Cg site

This is their message on FB.

CGHUB IS DEAD, LONG LIVE CG+
Team Shakuro, the developer of the formerly notorious cghub.com, has announced the release of a brand new website devoted to everything computer graphics, — CG+ (www.cgplus.com). After spending several months in closed alpha with more than 1500 artists actively taking part, the site has finally announced an open beta.
CGHUB
Cghub has unexpectedly closed its doors in April 2014 due to the owner’s arbitrary decision. It used to be one of the most popular online resources for artists in the entertainment industry. On one hand the shut down was abrupt and frowned upon, on the other hand it gave birth to a new project from the same developers.
CG+

The project is called Computer Graphics + or CG+ (cgplus.com) with a simple idea that it will be a new home for everything computer graphics related and more. This platform is built for all professionals working in gaming and movie industries as well as anyone interested in all areas of CG from 2d and 3d concept art to illustration and animations.

The new site combines the ability to publish your personal and professional portfolios with social elements that will allow artists to easily find each other, share their professional experience with the beginners and discover new talent. They will also be able to use instant messaging and take advantage of the new forum to share a sketchbook or seek feedback for their work.

Even though the website’s code has been written from scratch, it has been decided to preserve the legacy of the predecessor so that the users that used to have an account on the old site would feel at home. The team of developers has stated: “We have accomplished a tremendous amount of work so far but are still only at the very beginning. Our minds are bursting with new ideas and the audacity of those ideas is a bit scary. We have a definitive plan to follow that will allow us to improve and expand the existing functionality and we are striving for CG+ to become the most user friendly and useful hub in the industry...”

The website is still under heavy development and new releases are published practically every week. Thus the devs are asking to be understanding and patient regarding any problems you might be facing. You can submit your thoughts, questions or feedback to hello@cgplus.com
