I wanted to ask if anyone knows of any free video tool that can be used to study reference footage for animation on a frame by frame basics and has the always on top feature like Irfanview or kuardo(great tool btw) which only works with images.
I have vlc but it does frame by frame forward only.
Thanks.

It seems like 15 years ago there was a new lightweight standalone image sequence/video file viewer that loaded playback into ram for smooth playback... released every other week. Whose popularity seemed to switch from one to another frequently?
I was wondering if anyone has a personal favorite ram preview app for video and what features today might be new n exciting ( fer something so utilitarian? )
Fer now I just use the fCheck utility since it is still always included in the Maya bin directory. ( allowing loading the footage , scrolling or fram by frame with the arrow keys )
