Hello Polycount! I recently started work on my first environment trying to learn the whole pipeline and texturing/lighting techniques, since so far I have mostly only worked a bit with modeling (and even then, not that much, mostly working with characters)
I chose the concept below to learn how to model an outdoor environment and study flow maps.

I then broke down the scenes into general assets that I thought I'd need.

Made some low-poly assets in Maya to begin getting a feel for the environment and to see what could possibly be reusable later on.

I then blocked-out the environment in Unreal to have a (rough) starting point regarding color/scale.

Hoping to progress steadily from now on. I haven't started work on the actual water yet but I'm trying to catch-up and study flow maps in order to do that. I'll probably try to have a test soon through modifying a Photoshop Texture but it's something I really don't have a starting point on so I'm definitely open to suggestions.
Besides that I'm definitely going to begin work on the higher-poly models (particularly the stone structures in the background and the palm trees) and begin work on the UVs and textures/baking. It's still really early but I hope posting here can help me head towards a good end-result.
Any criticism is appreciated.
