At the moment I'm using a Frankenstein of references from 3dsk. I'll usually take a characteristic I like then try recreate that. However I know that doesn't help anyone in terms of getting feedback.
Basically the goal is to not have any major anatomical incorrections that makes him look weird, and get him semi believable.
Do you reckon it's worth sticking to one reference? Id be interested to hear how other people tackle it. : )
right now his ears seem a little high and the top of his head seems a bit disproportionately large as well, but I know people's heads can come in a variety of shapes which is why I was wondering what your reference looked like. I'm not amazing at anatomy, but the bones and muscle structure look pretty good. the eyes might be a bit too close together, but again it depends on your reference.
Cool I'll check those out. I purchased Rafael Grassetti's anatomy videos, looking forward to going over those tomorrow and making adjustments like the ones you suggested.
Nice job so far, couple things I notice... -Hands look too big, -abs and oblique area isn't correct, You have made all the ab muscles the same size which isn't how they are and the upper abs look way different then how you made them, and the external obliques don't look like that. i'd get some ref and rework that area and give a bit more volume to the lats in general. -also, the insertion point between the bicep and forarms aren't correct and the forearms arn't flowing quite right. -Id also consider softening up some of the features on the face, it looks a bit cg in areas (like harsh polygon pinching and stuff) rather then realistic creases on skin.
Overall really great work tho, your characters faces does match the reference pretty well in general and thats very difficult alone.
Awesome. - Would you say the hands are too big in terms of mass, or is it their length/location? - Abs and forearms are definitely some of my greatest weaknesses. I'll take another look. Any suggestions for fixes? - To help me, Is there a location on the face I can take as an example? Much appreciated dude.
Looks good so far. I would look at re-sizing the thumb on the hands. It feels out of proportion. Usually the thumb and the index finger are relatively the same size, with the thumb being a tad bit shorter. For the mouth, you got a lot of nice shapes for the teeth. I think you should offset and rotate some teeth to add some asymmetry.

Keep it up though! You've got great work here.
No one has symmetrical abs.
Cheers chaps. Moved onto some abs asymmetry.
