I'm new to Zbrush and I'm trying to make a christmas ham with it's net pattern.
I have no idea what's the easiest or best way to do it, but Surface>Noise seems like a fair option for it.
It's just that no matter how I do it, it never ends up the way I want it.
So, any tips on this?

You have multiple ways to apply a noise/pattern in zbrush. For a net pattern you can use noise maker.
Make some quick uv using uv master plugin. Then launch noise maker and look for a good pattern or use a custom alpha.

A pro tip, before you apply your noise is to go in tool / morphtarget / stroreMT, it will store every vertex position, so you can add or remove effet on some part with the morph brush.
