my name is Eddie Hernandez, I decided to make this thread to post all my progress of learning 3D and as a way to push myself to keep working and learn every day.

Here are some of my past 2D work.
I want to learn to use MODO because I heard that it would help me for my concept art stuff. I have a little experience with maya but I'm really attracted to modo right now. I saw some tutorials from Lynda and Digital tutors and this will my first Try to create something in Modo by myself

It's hard to see how something are connected sometimes.
Model real things, they look better, require more skills, have realreferences, are more relatable, don't carry over weaknesses of other artists, and you don't have to throw them away in a year when you realize they were terrible
Thanks for your advice men! Before I decided to model this weapon, I was looking around real stuff but What I liked about this design is that I see a little room for Interpretation. But yeah men, you are totally right, it makes sense to focus on real things and learn from them...
I think that the design is awesome anyway and that's why I'm attracted to it.

I hate that some of the edges that I had to add destroy the roundness of the cylinder... I'm sure that there must be a better way to do it.
