3D modeling + wacom/digital pen

Anybody have experience doing 3D modeling using cintiq/digital pen/keyboard instead of a regular mouse/keyboard especially in Modo? I would like to get some feedback/suggestions how to make the transition easier. I've been solely using my digital pen with other programs (PS,Zbrush,Topogun,SP)....I just recently obtained Modo and would like to solely use my pen/keyboard for it, right now going from left to right of the screen to select an option (haven't got into customizing the interface, if thats possible) is a bit cumbersome. I would like to be able to get the "shelf" into the right side (as I am right handed) to minimize arm movement...thanks.

There's nothing much except keep doing it. I made the switch 6-7 years ago using only Intuos 2 for Maya and after a while it just became natural.

In Modo it's even easier because you only need left mouse button for all the navigation. Hovering the pen above the tablet holding down middle and right button wasn't that comfortable.

I've got a G-13 right next to my drawing tablet, so I can use buttons instead having to reach up and down the tablet. Other than that, I always found that using the drawing tablet was more natural than using a mouse.

I recently made a thread about ergonomics and modeling and this topic came up. I have no experience with Modo but have you consired a programmable gaming keypad as an alternative to using your pen to reach the shelf? I have one setup for modeling with max on my wacom and it works quite well.

@Mant1k0re: I have the G510 keyboard, I should utilize it then for shortcuts/hotkeys...I just need to learn which one is which in MODO. I didn't even think about using this extra but keys in my keyboard (duh!)..:poly142: things we take for granted..hahaha..thanks for mentioning something about programmable keys!

@Ispheria: I might look into getting one of those just like you and Mantikore mentioned...seems like it would work a lot better than my G510, as it is more ergonomic and a space saver.
