Creating Animation Reel help!

Hi guys

I want to edit together a new Animation Reel but I am a bit blocked to which shots I should put in my reel, I've been looking at them to long.

Would like to gather a - top 7 shots - from as many people as I can and together with my feeling , I'll go from there...
So I would kindly ask you to please have a look at my work and tell me what's worth putting in a reel.You don't even have to analyse the shots in detail (altough that will be highly appreciated), just at first glance , what you think are the best.

You got a wide variety of work and it's hard to say which shots are good without knowing what target work (game, commercial, feature) you're aiming for.

For games I'd put the Ryse and Crysis 3 stuff in front, plus the Dragon landing and moving on the cathedral, the dino walk, end with one Ryse or Crysis shot.

Like Hito said , focus for the job you want , maybe a company that you will apply has 0 first person camera animations and focus more in body mechanics , that will make the Crysis animations less attractive to them. I think its ok you put some of them in your next reel ( because they are really great! and big games) but not in all of the reel , just my opinion .

I am not an expert and hell I am not even in the videogame industry ( yet :P ) but I talk from I what I had been said from other experimented animators.


My top animations from you:

- Crysis and Ryse for sure , those animations are beautiful. And your best work in my opinion is Ryse.
- The tiger run is nice too , it just have a little pop up in the back legs.
- The Dragon flight is good too , you demonstrate walk and the transition to a fly.
- You have some good animations in the one with the guy and the monkey.


I recommend you put better names in your videos , I didn't know that was a Ryse animation reel and it doesn't even say in the description anything.

If you have enough stuff, it doesn't hurt to have several reels covering different styles/methods and as much detail on your methodology as your final product.
