Roof help.

So i'm in the process of making a house from the outside, and as i'm on the roof i came across a problem which is the picture related, i'm not sure whether it would be fine if i just kept it like that which i think looks sloppy and lazy, or would it be better to try and deform the beam across the roof somehow, but then i think the beam wouldn't look right. Thanks for any replies

Depends on how you texture it. But it looks strange just popping out like that. I would move it down/re-create the ends to properly support it visually.

I'd leave it if it's a low poly thing, personally. could also bevel the roof at the corners to go around it, or squish the top part of the beam, which could give a more stylized feel anyway. Or just make the roof part wider

@Eric Chadwick for the roof i was just winging it and din't really have reference photos haha, and @jfitch i might just try that, thanks for the feedback!

If I were making it I would do exactly as jfitch suggested and 'squish' the top face of the beam. Wont add to your polycount that way
