Hello everyone,
Here is a low-poly hand painted sword that I made based on a concept image I found online. I was hoping that I could get some critiques on what I could improve on.
The demon head wasn't added due to time constraints and I noticed that I could have merged a few of the UVs to make my life easier after I was already into the painting process if you guys were wondering why some things weren't done.
*The reference image is a concept design done by an artist on Deviant Art that goes by the username "Kostja08"

The "fins" mid hilt area (spirals) should stick out a lot more(if you 1:1 the silhouette i still feel it should stick out more) it would have been pretty cool to see a 1:1 copy with the head and hands added in but i can understand the time issue.
Middle hilt spiral could be darker creating the appearance of depth into the base.
It would have been a bit easier to critique if you posed either the reference at the same angle as the model or vice versa.
Otherwise good, just blend the purple-ish color with the connecting white/silver/metal areas and it should be good to go.
Perhaps add in your own specular/metalness for some more oomph and plug it into a viewer like sketchfab.
When I have more time I might go back and add in the head as a separate mesh with its own set of UVs, just because there's a good amount of detail on it (I could always just save it out at a lower resolution so that the texel density matches more closely). Since this was made in Photoshop and I try to be as undestructive as possible I can go in to one of my shadow layers or just make a new layer to smooth out that transition. As for the spiral on the hilt, I could easily do the same.
I'll be sure to post an update if I get around to that. Thank you again for the feedback!
