I'm playing with the idea of making a katana that looks like kintsugi, that technique of mending broken pottery with gold.
Struggled with the tools for a bit so I made a quick mockup in Substance Designer, will play around with this to see if it's actually doable.
Spent more time playing with it, here's how it currently looks in engine:
Things are a lil bit different than what I expected so I'll see how far I can push this idea. I'm using a pattern texture so I can control gloss, though it's only applied to the blade.

I've changed the pattern a bit, made a custom glossiness map, bunch of tweaks and polishing:
I feel that I'm pretty much done with it so I'll move on to taking nicer screenshots and publishing it on the workshop.
