Thats a great start. I really like some of the color definition you have in the cloth. I think the blade could maybe use some more contrast to show off the metal as well as some splashed of color to break up the monotone. Keep working it. ^_^
@Tectonic, I agree the hues are very close to eachother. I'll see what I can do to improve on this.
@Praetus, I have been careful with the blade in order to not overdo it. I can still play with the lighting to see if I can push it some more. I will definitely have a look at introducing some more color.
Looks Awesome Dennispls! My only thought is maybe treat the metal of the blade a bit more rugged instead of such a polished feel. the crossgaurd, handle, and hilt feel very barbaric. Then the blade feels like it was broken off a paladins sword. Kudos if that's what you were going for though! Looking forward to more!
A slight update on this. I have tried to make the blade look a bit more interesting and worn. I have updated the sketchfab model and attached a screenshot below:
I think the blade is awesome, i really like the edges and the chips, feels really well used. Something about the hue of the blade though makes it come off as closer to stone rather than a metal, perhams a little higher highlights and a sharper gradient on the flatter parts of the blade.
Thanks! I see your point and I have been afraid it might come off too much like stone.
PErhaps pushing the highlights will indeed eliminate this. Perhaps change the colors a bit too.
Its so close. I think the changes help a bunch. I think you should brighten up the blade closer to the brighter grey on the tip of the blade. That's the spot that feels the most metallic to me. This is looking awesome regardless though.

I agree with Chronicle. I think pumping up the highlights on the blade will definitely help out. Keep up the good work!
