Zmodeler instead of Maya or Max for HS

Hey guys, i find really awesome doing things in Zbrush with Zmodeler for hard surface modeling, just i need more to do it, and to make some complex shape. Do you think it is acceptable to model in Zbrush instead of traditional software like Max or Maya for hard surface?

I really enjoy doing it, more than do to it in Maya to be honest.

You should totally use what works best for you ;). If the end result is better why not?

Yeah I am forcing myself to hard model in ZB again after the low poly modeller brush got me curious. I resisted the urge to GoZ stuff to and from max just to see how far ZB could go, and it goes pretty far! I think there is nothing you cant model in ZB for its intended purpose. I dont think I would want to model things like entire levels, Max, Maya, Blender and the rest have better asset tracking and scale tools for assembling and managing something of that complexity. I think ZB is a good asset maker and unparalleled concept tool. And yeah, there are things you can make a lot quicker than you can in standard 3d ware.

Indeed, use whatever works best for you.

Just make sure that whatever workflow you use is not slowing yourself down or your coworkers if you are part of a team. For instance, unnecessarily heavy models, surfaces left to be cleaned up by someone else, things that look good in Zbrush but don't bake well can all be issues. Ultimately, when working within a team this will all be decided/agreed on with your lead.

That's probably the best advice you will ever get.
I force myself to explore different things when working on folio pieces. I wouldn't even use methods I am not comfortable with on a freelance job let alone as a team member.
