Hey guys
,
got a small workflow problem. I'm trying to make this tower

On the front you can see this pyramid thingy that sticks out and I'm questioning my workflow.
(see attachment)
I'm using Blender, made a loopring/loopcut where the platform should be, then extracted a vertex and made 4 faces. But now, I'm stucked, I have no idea how I could make these 3 edges on the inside (see image). Is there a Blender tool I'm missing to use here or should I made this pyramid separate?

In 3ds Max, I would use the tetrahedron as a guideline for adding new polygons. I would delete the polygons behind it (along the right side of the red line, and symmetrically on the left too), then I would extrude new polygons from the hole, and snap/magnet vertices to the front of the tetrahedron. Then I would delete the tetrahedron.
Snapping to a guideline mesh is a good method. Especially helpful for adding round shapes, you can snap to a temporary guideline cylinder.
Many programs also have a boolean function, which cuts two models along their intersection. Sometimes this leaves extra vertices, but it's quick to cleanup the model afterwards.
