Hey guys!
I really want to learn how to make great effects for the game I'm working on. No-one in the studio has a strong background in effects, so the game is really suffering in that regard.
I am just wondering if any of you have any great tips, resources or anything to help me learn faster/better.
The effects I like most are the ones from the (v. exciting) kickstarter for Battle Chasers:

Even a little mini breakdown on how those effects were achieved would be awesome!
I am comfortable with modelling, writing shaders, texturing, using Unity's particle system and coding.
