I'll post the synopsis here so you don't have to do all the heavy work of clicking.
Beached is a 2D platformer video game that is based on a historical event known as the exploding whale incident. This incident occurred in Florence Oregon 1970, when a dead whale that was beached on the coastline was removed by highway engineer George Thornton via dynamite. The focus of Beached is to provide a short, highly polished, interactive experience that takes the player from the initial problem, to the implemented solution, and eventually highlights the ramifications for the solution chosen. The goal is to provide the player with a "bite-size" experience that lasts no more than 10 minutes, but leaves a lasting impression that has them dying to tell their friends about it.
I have a game design document if you would like to look at that as well. It has a section covering the general idea of the game's aesthetic design.
As a whole, the game is functionally done. I'm just in the process of finishing off minor nuances to its functional execution and game play. However, up until now it has been all placeholder art, and it's looking pretty rough.
I am looking for someone who can provide assistance in establishing an artistic direction for my game that is consistent with what I was searching for, as well as taking it farther, and fleshing it out.
First with some concept art, then with the art assets and animations specified.
I have a budget of $1000, available. Maximum. No more, no less. The deadline Ive set for the project is November 1st, as I intend to launch on November 12th.
I'm not sure what to expect for the rate of services, but I am always open to discussion.
