Deep Forger is a procedural generation app currently running as a bot on Twitter. It uses similar tech to the Deep Dreaming generator that went around a little while back. Unlike that app that inexplicably worked pictures of dogs and eyeballs into a submitted photo, Deep Forger picks a specific piece of artwork and reworks the photo in that style.
For example, I tested it out with one of my pictures of Kong and suggested Henri Rousseau as the style. The app automatically selected one of Rousseau's artworks and eventually came back with this:
It's not the most spectacular result I've seen (I think this:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/COKcPECVAAAwkxu.png is my current favourite), but it's pretty neat nonetheless.
It's pretty simple to use. Send a tweet to
@DeepForger with a photo attached. If you want a specific artist, add a + and then the artist's name (for example +rousseau). It takes awhile to come through as the generation process isn't super fast and there's a queue. Mine took about 2 hours to be released. That queue is probably going to get longer as people hear about this so it'd be worth jumping on this soon.
There's a Reddit post about it here:

Let's see what you Polycounters can come up with.
