Hello PolyCount!
Just little problem with my normal map, that I've been trying to tackle today. The map was created using Xnormal and seems to give me a wear dark shaded area in the maya view port as I rotate the camera.
The normal map looks fine to me and leads me to think theres an issue with my maya options.
The map was created using my low poly mesh as a cage to project down onto my high poly(i went into 3d viewer to make sure the cage completely covered the mesh). The file is a 32 bit .png currently at 4096.
Im suck at normal maps so any help is greatly appreciated!

Currently it looks fine to me, the scene's light source appears to be on the right of the model.
I like to add a directional and a slight ambient light for preview purposes and to get rid of completely black spots.
Try adding some and hit '7' to switch from standard to scene lighting.
I forgot that maya has default lighting from the camera!
Thank you guys! You da best!
