The other thread about new texture tools vs tradiontal art got me thinking, does anyone know of an example of a truly Hand-painted texture set in a game? Like the UV layout was printed and then watercolored or inked over then scanned back in.
I wonder what kind of result that would get.

You played some kind of small guy in a toy-ish world ? A story driven game I think but Im not sure, but definitely worth the effort , looked really mind blowing maybe someone reading this knows and can post the link
Also some airplane shoot em up game from France with real props , looked pretty cool too, but also can't remember the name sadly
'Edit: Looked up a lot on Steam and google but to no success.
Edit2: For a small project a couple years ago we used assets painted with ink and scanned them in, but nothing super high production value, cleaning up the scans was most of the mess, but with some photoshop actions I made most could be automated (Refine edge, contrast, cutout etc etc)
