[ZBrush] Changing to 'best render' causes ZBrush to become unusable.

Hey all,

I am doing some 2.5d work to create tileable textures. When I switch to 'Render > Best' ZBrush becomes unusable/buggy, I can't interact with any buttons or functions. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    UPDATE:

    So I can't see zbrush responding but when I alt+tab out then back into Zbrush it updates visually to reflect the changes I made or buttons I pressed. Essentially, Zbrush's display/UI isn't rendering correctly after I try a best render.

    I tried to initialize ZBrush as well. Still having this issue. I was working fine for about 5 minutes then started acting funky. I have to save the tools and document then restart. Any help would be appreciated.

    My setup:

    i7 4790k
    16gb ddr3 ram
    GTX 970 (latest drivers)
    Windows 8.1 64bit
    ZBrush 4R7 P3 64bit
