Thanks a lot for stopping by my improvement thread! My plan for this thread is to grow alongside with me and to document my journey in the video game industry.
Goblin guy is looking great, @floon! I really like your texture detail on his cap and skin. Can't wait to see how he looks with some materials and lighting added!
Continued to texture the rest of the body. There are still a lot of areas I want to work on, but I am happy with the progress sofar. I also decided to rework the plain leather bag to a stylish toad skin bag !
my biggest crit would be the colors, everything is very green. It would be nice to see some browns in there for the clothes. If you absolutely wanna stick with the toad skin color Id consider changing the skin color of the goblin itself.
@lotet finding fitting color for his clothes is something I really struggle with. I always try to imagine, where the goblin lives and what materials he has at disposal to craft his clothing from. The clothes are mostly made of leather, but reading your comment I realized, that the green lighting/environment map might be too intense. This is what he looks like in a more neutral light:
I still think you have a valid point thought! Some more color variation would definitely improve the overall look. I will see what I can do. Thanks a lot for your feedback!
Spend the past few evenings painting and modelling in Zbrush on this. Decimated highpoly with Polypaint - rendered in Marmoset. Based on an early Shrek character concept. Unfortunately I was not able to find the Artist behind this. 3D viewer scene can be found on artstation !
(Since I start so see a pattern in my work: next character will NOT have green skin ! ...probably)
I took part in the Artstation challenge last year, but life got in the way and I wasn't able to meet the deadline. Happy that I picked it up again and didn't add it to the pile of shame.
I have a few more renderings and a Marmoset viewer scene over at Artstation, so go check them out if you are interested. There might also be a hidden a little Greentooth
P.s.: Nooooooooo without realizing I picked a green-skin again. Well, I guess it's a trademark by now. I blame Polycount x)!

@AgelosAp Thanks man! I use things from my surroundings as a reference as often as I can.
