Hi everyone, I'm a recent computer animation graduate who's walking away from the 3D modelling to focus more on my concept art career. Here's some recent roughs and WIP's
20 Masters Value studies.
Metroid Designs:
Sketchbook Work:
Miscellaneous:
All of this is a couple months old by this point but I'll be uploading a steady stream of what I've been working on recently alongside it soon.
Sorry for not updating in a while everyone. I've recently finished an internship at SIXMOREVODKA, and have thus been pretty pre-occupied for the last few months. I'll be posting some updates with my personal work from now on. And I really think I've grasped painting a lot better after the internship.
These are a few 1 hour character designs I was tasked with whilst I was
there. It was pretty challenging to try getting characterization,
anatomy and clothes all done within an hour I have to say!

Okay, so a little background on these bears. My partner is Finnish, and she was explaining how in Finnish mythology each animal has a sort of male and female god representing them. So I thought about illustrating cubs, bears, and then the mother as if she's some sort of spiritual entity.
I will likely get back to these when I feel more comfortable in my fur rendering skills.
Just completed a sketchbook. So for the next few weeks I'll be uploading
selected pages out of that, which is why the ones right now are dated
so long ago.
Thanks Ypar! Sort of yes, and sort of no with the joints. Essentially there's a few shapes that help me remember exactly where anatomical parts are, shoulders, knees etc. The shoulders are typically the area I need help with most though, as their shape and shading can very wildly depending on their positioning. But the greater tubercle at the top of the Humerus tends to stay the same so if I map that out I can figure the rest of it from there
I recently completed a course with Terryl Whitlatch studying Creature Design. IT was a pretty intense 9 weeks, but I have the following to show for it. I hope you like them
Finally finished these studies. I also decided to try making a load
of material spheres and a short tutorial on rendering armour and
understanding light/shadows over on my blog.
Anyway, just updating here with a clean up of some work from last year. Wanted to make more actual 'design' in my concept designs and add some notes on here.

I did end up making a free pdf of this sketchbook too in case anyone wants to take a more in-depth look.
It can be found here: https://goo.gl/s8Qumg
I also have a blog that details the processes of my work, including this piece. If you're interested, it can be found here: http://tchukart.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/monster-hunter-design-oryctomus-creature.html
Next one isn't a creature though. This was a character designed for an in development indie game called 'Circuits and Shields'.

More sketches too:
I wanted to spend a little time doing something fun. So I made a new version of my favourite Pokémon.
Time well spent
