Polycount login attempt email- anyone else have this?

I just got this in my inbox, somewhat concerning. Anyone else experience this?

Someone has tried to log into your account on Polycount Forum with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.



The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 142.4.213.25

Wayne Robson was complaining about that same thing on Facebook. He hasn't logged in here in years so it surprised him...

Maybe some script kids are testing the fences.

Try it out! Get your password wrong 5 times and see if it sends an email. I'm with Warren on this one.

HMM ... Ashley Madison leak then someone starts throwing password attempts at Polycount ... HMMM...

The failed login notifcation is legit- At least I have had them in the past when I forgot my password.

I feel a little better if other people are seeing this than someone going out of their way to try and target me.

Well, that IP is a confirmed proxy server, a Tor exit node. Obviously somebody is trying to break in and be anonymous.

Maybe time to make sure that the backups of the site is up to date, just in case.

I got this fom the UDK forums, turns out the ip was Chineese. Go figure (shrug).

People don't have there own servers here then? I average about 20 lockouts a day, mostly people trying to access secured files multiply times or trying to access the default login pages etc.

I use IThemes security plugins to maintain some order, before that they could literally spam/crawl my server looking for a weakness. Chinese, russian, spanish, taiwanese are some of the usual suspects.

The emails are just a reminder that PC has decent security
