There, the blockout is done! Going very Heroes of the Storm styled on this one. Might do some more adjustments on the proportions and then start detailing.
Good progress Tim! Cant wait to see how you handle the pelt A minor thing, but I feel like his face looks too much like your Grom's face (yes they're both orcs but they should have their own personailty) Maybe make his nasal bridge a little broader and his nose more bulbous? Maybe make his nostrils point down more?
Looks good so far! Durotan is one of my favourites.
You might have already caught it, but I thought it might be worth mentioning anyway just in case.
Try moving the belt up a little more, so it covers the row of abs above it. As you have it right now, it's making is legs look overly short and his torso look really long. It's taking away from the impression that this is a tall orc warrior. It's also more accurate to the reference.
Of course I'm still a novice so I don't know if you're intentionally doing it as to not run into issues for whatever reason, but I think the impression of his height is something you might want to keep in mind.
Thanks for the feedback, changed the face a bit and started adding details.
Tried putting the belt higher, but wasn't satisfied. Warcraft orcs have pretty short legs in the end.
Didn't consider that Tom, but I think I might do that instead of the yellow tint, because I'm not a big fan of that tint, looking at it again. So thanks Tom!
Also planning on doing a masterskin variation (Which is a variation on the normal skin, not an entirely new skin) Made a quick sketch. The shoulderplate is inspired on Orgrim's shoulderplate, who is Durotan's dearest friend in the lore.
Yellow skin isn't terrible as it reminds me of the half orc/ogre breeds like Rexxar That being said, it may be a little too much like Rexxar with the axes as well. The main issue I have with the yellow skin is that the wolf pelt is too similar in color to it. I feel like it needs to pop and it is not.
Great progress! I don't know what it is but the axe is looking a little....soft. I think you could push the shading on the axe blade and further define the planes of the blades. Here's a paintover if I'm not making sense
Alright, gonna start on the master version, improved the axe. (thx Sukotto!!)
Also did some improvements on the low poly mesh to make it more moba friendly.
And lastly, tried out the red orc thing, but it didn't look how I wanted it to look, so I went back to the ogre-ish color and improved that variation. Basically just did lots of tweaking today, before starting on the Masterskin version.

Here's the masterskin WIP. Going for an alternate lore inspired version.
Where Durotan didn't learn how to control his bloodlust and killed Orgrim, instead
of becoming friends (Hence the shoulderplate)

Keep it up!

looking forward to this
Cant wait to see this painted...
Now that all of the technical stuff is out of the way, time for painting!
I know it's probably a bit late to change proportions, but I thinks he should be slightly bigger in waist and legs.
But who cares! He looks really nice, can't wait to see him finished
Have you considered a red orc color variation? Might be too much, but you never know.
