We are working on a forest scene using the Directional light to do most of the lighting and have come across an issue when our LOD's change. The lighting changes dramatically in some of the assets, even though the lightmaps are closely matched.
To create the assets we used photogrammetry and reduction of the LOD's was created using simplygon, but we have not had an issue with the lighting until now.
We have tried changing the lightmaps and playing around with the lightmap resolution (Currently at the default of 64 for optimization), but this error still occurs in certain assets.
Any suggestions for altering the assets or settings would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Adam

Try dynamic lighting and see if this happen.
check if the lighting problem(looked like shadow to me) is coming from other assets.(say changing LOD also affect other stuff?)
try to rebuild lighting.
If it can't be solved. Go make a new map with only this asset, and see if it's the problem of this single asset. If not, then you have other things to deal with, like the level.
Filter out the problem one by one. This isn't programmer hunting bugs, so it should be way easier.
