Hi,
During the last weeks I worked on a fictional assault rifle.
I took inspirations from the HK243 & the ACR combined with a concept art of a friend.
The result so far.

Textures are 1x 4096 & 1x 2048 (Mag and front grip) [will be downsized for ingame use]

But yeah I agree that I should have re-check the geo to see where I can remove some more polys.
The carry handle itself is indeed hollow (similar to the one of the Famas), so the LoS is not blocked.

Additional details and surface details will be added with nDo and Substance painter.

Next will be creating the required materials in Substance Designer/Painter.

I also used this to optimize the poly-flow and did some texture work.
At the moment I completed the main body, the frontgrip, one mag variant and the holosight.
Next will be the stock, the top-rail (G36 style), differnt mag, iron sight and a underbarrel weapon.
The textures are still "fabric new" so I will add more scratches and wear damage to the texture once every part is done.

P.S.: please ignore the "transparency" issue at the holo-cross, it's only this way in marmorset
Still some minor normal map issues, but this will be fixed soon.
The model consists of eight submodells (stock, main body, iron sight, holosight, top rail, magazin, front handle and muzzle), to make it customizable.
At the moment all rextures are 4K, but this will be adapted once it goes in engine.
Vert count 10.065 Verts / 9771 Polys
At the moment i only did the "brand new" texture. Next will be the "used" one (scratches, dirt, damage, color burn etc.)

I'm still working at the texture and don't really know how to push it further, so I would be very happy about any sort of tips, tricks or tutorials.
