Hi, I've started work on a likeness of Peter Falk (Columbo).
I'm not great at characters so would like any critiques or advice. Concentrating on getting a decent sculpt for now. Will have to think about texturing and stuff later.
I'm nearer a stage where I'm thinking about surface-detailing and making unique features... or maybe get on with the hair.
So is there anything obviously wrong with the anatomy or proportions or anything? Is there something missing apart from the eyebrows & wrinkles?
Thanks for looking,
Tom

Think the fabric + hands are next before the hair. I hate hands. Will probably try fibres for hair instead of sculpting
Still a way to go - appreciate any feedback thanks.
Thanks
The face is very doughy. I'd suggest going back a few subdivisions, deleting your higher ones, and starting fresh on the forms.
Gather all the reference images you can and start comparing them to your sculpt at different angles. Focus on the profile first and then go from there.
Also, I feel like you should rough in some eyebrows early on to get a better feel of the portrait. Eyebrows have a big impact.
I'll have a go at revisiting the face and see how it feels. He did/does have eyebrows - they just didn't transpose for some reason for this pose & I left them out.
Think i will try and get some screen grabs from the show for better reference, been using a mixture of references and his age tends to vary dramatically. Gonna aim for season 3 I think.
Thanks a lot
