Keep going man. I tried modeling a hand once thinking it was going to be simple, but it was actually crazy hard. But yours is farther along any hand I made.
I'd say your hand right now is missing an organic look. It looks you took a cube and just kept making extrusions.
Also, you should define what kind of position your hand is in. My guess is it's suppose to be a hand that's resting on a flat surface?
The image on the Top right looks like its stretched out straight. But the PIP Joint looks like its bent. The only way that could be is if the finger was broken at the joint (one of my fingers looks like that ha!). If the PIP Joint was to be bent like that the DIP Joint would also be bent meaning the finger would be curving back on itself in a relaxed state.
If you look at the Wiremesh in PyrZen's image. The loops are around the Knuckles where the finger will bend. The areas that dont bend, there are no Loops. Just straight lines following the bone. Your mesh has loops all down along the finger meaning it would be floppy like a sausage, which is why your finger when bent looks like a folded sausage.
Use an 8 or 6 Sided Cylinder to make your finger. Add 3 Loops where the Knuckles will be and adjust the shape. Keep the mesh simple. Mens fingers tend to be more Square, a Womans will be more Round.
