Hello. Some of you may recognize me by my user name or by my real name and some of you may not know me at all.
My name is Davon Allen, im starting this thread at 23 years old. I have attended school for game design and development in 2010 and graduated with a BFA in 2014.
My goal is to become a professional 3D artist, someone who gets paid to do 3D for a living.
My primary direction is the Game industry whether its for AAA developers or Indie's. I'm not afraid to go beyond games.
I am willing to go anywhere 3D is needed and my skills are comparable to the job's requirements.
I plan to start with prop modeling, then move to environments and finally to level design and layout.
Over the years I would pop into polycount and place an asset thread here or there and be bombarded with helpful critique.
Because of my reservations about my schooling, since Year 2 of college I have taken to doing self studying, (free)-lance projects and, 3D improvement projects under the assumption that I could teach myself because my school was only in it for the for-profit portion of college.
there are only 3 Game companies in Michigan and its a very tight group so i decided to create this thread to mark my improvements, view constructive criticism and feedback on my skill level. I may never be a Tor Frick or Reno Levi, but I damn sure will try to be as good in my own way.
enough talk, let me just so you my 3D timeline. I ask for your help polycounters, to help me become the 3D artist with potential for freelance/contract/industry work experience.
