Fall of Civilization A post-apocalyptic strategy/simulator game.
You play as a survivor of the end of the world, controlling a faction of people you choose how you live in the new world and what the rules are. Build up your economy and upgrade your base to draw in more survivors to your community, but beware the stronger you get the more likely other factions will start looking at you. The choices you make of who you decide to be in this new world determine how the world and its people will treat you.
"This project i am pitching to you , will be my final year project for university. "
Sounds like he's going to make some incarnation of this game with or without funding. He may just be looking to off-set the expenses. That being said I think a lot is being promised in the base game.
interesting idea doing a kickstarter for your FMP, but I would check with the Uni if you haven't already just in case this breaks any rules concerning making money with assignment material.
1: £1000 is the absolute minimum i need, I have done the research and spoke to respective artists to confirm this, I wont run out of i get the funding i need, if i do then I wont put in the extra budget features.
In my time I have worked on many games, this one being most prominent:

2: Yeah? You clearly have no idea how games are made or how long they take to make, especially with ONE person doing it all, so don't judge or question me when I say it will take that long, because if I say it any earlier I wont feel like its polished enough.
3: This will be the main focus point of my work, so its not going to be put on the bench during education
4: Thank you. I am promising as much as i can and trying to do as much as i can.
5: Yes i know, sorry about that, its been updated since but please read info too
6: Thank you I have actually got in contact with Uni and lecturers seem okay with it
I think you're really underestimating what it's going to take to complete a game. All you have is some concept art and some honestly pretty vague gameplay ideas. You don't even mention if your game is 2d or 3d, first person, third person, isometric, etc. It just seems you haven't thought this through, and there's something really shady about taking other people's money to fund your school project.
By all means dream big, try to make it happen, this is a school project and is meant to be a learning experience for you, but the idea that other people will lose money due to your inexperience and inaccurate expectations is kinda fucked up. I know that fault falls on whoever decides to back this, but generally I don't think this was a good idea.
That said, concepts look cool, best of luck with your project.
I hope you understand that within your university contract, any ideas, projects and profits you make for any work or criteria done for a university assignment is owned by them?
2: Yeah? You clearly have no idea how games are made or how long they take to make, especially with ONE person doing it all, so don't judge or question me when I say it will take that long, because if I say it any earlier I wont feel like its polished enough.
I'm pretty sure Fuiosg was balking at how short your development time was, not how long it is.
Stranger: The reasons why I need the money are clearing laid out on the campaign.
The 3D models I need for the game aren't cheap. I could have a few boxes instead but wheres the fun in that.
Excuse me?
Im not using unity assets, im hiring 3D artists to make my assets.
My 3D modelling experience is irrelevant cause im hiring others to do it and I have good 3D engine experience.
Your well within your rights to give your opinion about my project, but if you dont like it please stop commenting on here or openly slandering it.
I believe this is more then feasible
There are always just going to be some people that are negative for the sake of it,
Im all up for hearing feedback to change and better the campaign, but when its just negative with no help then whats the point?
First off - good luck, hope you meet your goal. Concepts look cool.
Obviously, you know where your attitude has gone sour in this thread - and I want to avoid that, I'm not trying to be mean. Consider how much collective experience this forum has, though, and try not to take what we say as an insult.
Your KS seems to only have a rough plan and some concept work, which bigger projects have failed meeting their goals with the same level of work to show and at a better quality.
Considering that you are a student, I am also going to question the credibility of your experience and how you would manage a project's scope while delivering a high quality level - we've all been over ambitious students at one point or another. The "many" games you've worked on don't seem to actually be a shipped title - they seem to be student projects? And that's fine - but there is a difference between projection experience and making a test level with your friends.
We (the game dev community) have seen tons of projects exactly like this come and go - since the modding days, this looks like a pretty common scenario. An idea from a designer or coder with a batch of concept art. An idea that sounds great and goes nowhere because there is no incentive. An overly ambitious project by a team with little to no experience. How is this project any more feasible than the thousands I've seen exactly like it that have failed miserably?
I've also seen a ton of projects come to me and my friends wanting art help for very little payment - are you expecting that the 1500~ you're asking for would fund the art for your project? For top of the line stuff, that will buy you about half a character - I can't imagine that it would fund an entire UI, tile set, characters, etc... Have you already sourced artists that would accept that level of payment?
Is the success based on your school project, or is it based on making a good game? There's a big difference.
(Also, looks like your link above is throwing up a 404 for me.)
Yeah I understand full well where I should have said different things but I believe in looking forward so it doesn't happen again.
And don't get me wrong, I respect your opinions, since I was told to put more in-game stuff on the page I have been spending a lot of hours each day sorting things out that I can show people to prove its credibility.
Before this campaign started I must have spoken to a dozen 3D and 2D (obviously) artists about pricing and such.
Thats where I drew my goals from, the £1000 will get me one survivor character model and a base model.
That is the absolute minimum that I really need for the game.
Ofcourse I would like more funding to fill the game with different types of unit models, have base progressing models and so forth, but thats being realistically not going to happen.
I want you to understand this project will be happening regardless of being funded or not, I am fully committed to it, I just need some of my own models and other content in the game if I wanted to sell it properly.
Anymore questions feel free to ask, I hope i have answered to your satisfaction.
I believe this is more then feasible

Its called opinion, and most people express it freely.
but i just guess this is one of your concepts?
My question was aiming at your 3d quality goal, which for 1000 bucks sounds to be very very low. Considering a current gen asset easily costs 10 times as much.
What did not work?
Anyway this is the 3D artist I have been speaking to in regards to my character model, he sent me this an example for his level of work.
Thats what im going for.
I am fully aware of the prices and qualities I am dealing with as I have spoke to many artists before starting the campaign.
Thank you
well this is nowhere near as complex as your concepts seem to be like
also i think that asset is worth more than 1k, not sure who you asked but i think they highly underestimated the work from start to finish. Even with the "lack" of texture, this is more than 3-4 days of work, when you include feedbackrounds, iteration, integration and so on.<
I have spoke directly with the artist for fixed prices and based on the prices I have got from artists that I what I set my goal to be.
Please understand I have done my research.
New Video Update featuring: New UI buttons, Unit Classes & Scavenging Tile Implementation.

Thank you!
Ẁe did it!
Thanks to everyone that helped me hit 100%
But I still have 28 hours left and I dont intend to quit yet.
Im making a new environment as a final showcase for you guys,
Interesting.
Are you only making one playable level?
Are you doing most of the art yourself?
if not, Now i'm curious what the other artist are charging for their art?
105% funded!
Even though the campaign is now over, if yourself or someone you know would like to still invest in the project/ get the benefits of the reward deals and become a backer then please contact me directly and we can work this out!
Things like free soundtracks and exclusive T-shirts will be alot rarer for people purchasing the game in May Lukedodds94@gmail.com

but good luck with the project.
And that attitude is why you will fail.
Agreed.
I'm pretty sure Fuiosg was balking at how short your development time was, not how long it is.
Furthermore I apologies for any wrongful attitudes I have taken.

It's people's choice to fund or not, no real need to dump all over the project.

That potato salad was more economically feasible though.
People are supposed to point out flaws in kickstarters, kickstarter does not filter those things.
