Hello friends ! I've been using maya for almost 2 years right now but today something strange happened. I let you watch the screenshots first :

As you can see, when I'm selecting one face, it's also selecting some edges. Or when I'm selecting one edge, when I'm switching between the smooth preview mode, the edge wich it selected isn't the same...
I also got those 'quads into quads" :

I used the clean up to check everything but they were no problem.
It's driving me nuts, I'm begging someone to help me, because it's for an important project.
If someone can explain me what's happening and how to fix it he/she will be my hero

for the selection problems reset your move, rotate and scale tool, make sure : you do not have reflection turned on, soft selection turned on.
for quads in quad thing , it's a bug, that might be fixed by service packs. It should smooth correctly even if wires are buggy.
I always installed my SP one by one and I actually have the last SP for maya 2015 (Service Pack 6). I tried to load my project on 2014 and 2016 but the problem is still there.
For this 'selection' problem I reseted everything and I don't have those options turned on. This problem appears only on some faces but not every of them. I'm very confused.
Okay, if the quad in quad is not destroying the mesh it's okay !
If you can't upload the full scene, just upload the offended part.
Yeah, it appear to be a damn OpenSubdiv bug in Viewport 2.0, if you switch it to Maya Catmull-Clark it works.
If you export the model to FBX and reimport it back, it display the faces correctly with OpenSubdiv without problems.
