Zbrush Problem

I find this annoying that when i zremesh a sculpture and begin to subdivide it, while i smooth over pinching poles http://prntscr.com/7z8n2j is there anyway that you can change something, so it doesnt happen when you sculpt,smooth on poles like these? http://prntscr.com/7z8oig

is there anyway you can "turn it off" so these small bumps, doesnt appear when smoothing poles totally?


by the way, does this also happen to you guys? do you just ignore it or what?

    Your images don't seem to be loading, but one way to solve what you're describing is to use the second smoothing algorithm. You access this by holding the shift, clicking and holding on the model with left mouse/stylus and then releasing shift.

    This pushes the verts around in a slightly different way to the regular smooth and is good for smoothing out poles.

    You can use the polish functions in the "deformation" tab in the tool palette. You can experiment with the different functions and also with open and closed circle. Open circle will try to maintain the forms while closed circle (a circle with a point in the center) will not.

    That alternative polish seems promising, I'll give it a go soon.

    To answer your question Mads I usually use soft touches with the trim dynamic brush, for me it seems to be doing the trick pretty well.

    you could also try out the zremesher while pressing the alt key, i believe it uses a different algorithm to figure out the topology
    but i was just wondering, could you show the lowest subd of the zremeshed model that made those poles happen?

    is happens everytime i zremesh or just subdivide, from a dynamesh. if i just sdiv from dynamesh more of the small poles pinch thing appear, 7zwlfx

    i really dont wanna loose the form of the sculpt when i smooth the poles with the "releasing shift smooth" option

    there are also different smooth options in the brush selection. Smooth Peaks being one of my favorites especially for skin. but in general, if you are losing all of your detail maybe just turn down the strength of the smooth when you use the release shift smooth. or you can try doing Clay Polish if you want a smoother sculpt all over.     there's really lots of options, in the end it comes down to practice and knowing which tools in the software can achieve the results you want.

    To smooth poles use the polish brush (just normal polish will do) and then the smooth release shift, use small brush sizes and dont be heavy handed and you will fix the nodes. If you want to get it at grass level then take the mesh into a modeling app and use camfer on the verts and reroute the edges to eliminate the 5 point poles you have.

    but what do you people do? do you smooth the poles at last , when sculpture is finished.

    because i don't see the point doing it while sculpting in sdiv or what?

    Personally I use the flatten brush when I have issues with the smoothing brush. They work completely differently and a lot of the time nothing works for me except the flatten brush. Not sure if I understand your problem fully, but if you have a high res mesh already (like you remeshed the high to build a low) you can project the surface from your high to the remeshed one with "project all". I think this would get you the exact surface you need in the area in your first image.
