gimbal mode when pressing insert key in maya

I get gimbal mode when i press insert key to move my joints(please check the attachment for the issue), i have tried deleting the maya preferences folder changing the options of move tool still the issue is present, using maya 2015 and windows 8.1. Need little help .

Anybody knows why i cannot disable gimbal mode in pivot mode?

Seems to be regular behavior. Depending on what version of Maya you have, the gizmo will look different from other versions. In 2013 it just shows X/Y/Z handles with no arrows. In Maya 2016 you get the arrows plus the rotation rings.

You should still be able to move your joint around. Or is this not the problem?

Yeah Bartalon, in orthographic views i am not able to move the joints when in edit pivot(insert key) mode, using Maya 2015. While pressing W i can move joints but when i switch to edit pivot mode the transformation locks up, i cannot move the joints. Trying to learn rigging .

Can you move the joints at all while in pivot edit mode? Have you tried with grid snapping disabled?
Does it work in perspective view?
Does this happen to all the joints or just the root joint?

Hi Bartalon thanks for replying,
Grid snapping is disabled. In side view i cannot move any joints.
I can move the joints in perspective.
Happens with all the joints.
I just want to get rid of the rotation when i am in pivot edit mode, maybe that's why i cannot move the joints.

Still having this issue, can somebody help please.
