Hey Counters, so this is going to be some place to document and compile some work in progress of my latest environment that I've been working on. I've taken to recording some of my work, mostly boring modeling, but sometimes I find some cool secret dragon techniques or tricks that I post to YouTube in Maya or Substance Designer.
The style is heavily inspire by a post-Tesla Victoria, similar to The Order 1886. A mashup between electrical revolution and the old classical eloquent gilded age building.
Looking good already with nice preparation! Lately I'm learning more about highpoly modeling and normal baking and I was wondering, shouldnt you use more soft/wider edges in your highpoly so they can be picked up in the normal map? E.g. :
Hey folks, been awhile since I've posted an update but fear not I am still plugging away slowly. Been in Austin at UT working with Mr. Deus Ex which is super awesome but also very time consuming so I haven't had too much personal time to work on side projects.
Anyways, here is the most recent shot in progress inside of Unreal 4.
Been slowly working on this project still. I've been spending a lot of time on each piece combined with me not having much time in my nights and mornings to get more done.
The phone is next and its looking pretty tasty so far.
The style of the assets and lighting feel for the room is spot on! I can easily see a detective sitting at a desk, silhouetted by the light shining in over his shoulders, cigarette quietly smoldering in the ashtray. Nice work!
I've been pretty intensely busy. Been implementing a Substance pipeline at work, in pre-concept for a side project I'm on and I participated in the Allegorithmic Contest that ended recently. However no amount of turkey will hold me back from work. I was able to sculpt, retopo and bake the phone over last weekend, I wanted this to be a central piece to show off in the scene so its more detailed.
