New to Micromesh, have a problem setting it up

I'm trying to make 1 subtool go around a 'ring' but for some reason some are flipping when I click on micromesh and assign the 1 subtool. Any ideas?

Check the triangulation on the mesh that's receiving the micro mesh and make sure all the quads are triangulated the same way.

There are two buttons for this called Spin Edge and Align Edge. Second one should get all the micromeshes pointing in the same way and the first one spins the micromesh so it points in the way you want.
