Modeling faces in 3ds Max...can't find my way

Hi guys!

box modeling,plane modeling,single face extrusion...damn i think i saw a video where a guy started from a cylinder..
who makes all directly in zbrush...
and then who makes the eyes first,who makes the general shape of the head,nose

just started with character modeling and i cannot find my way,my technique and my workflow
i'm not even satisfied with the results
usually i try different approaches and pretty soon i find my way of doing things/techniques and workflows that suits better for me


but with face modeling,also considering a good anatomy and a good polygons flow for animation,still........no

and now with different parts of techniques and workflow mixed in my head is a mess


i need something like:
this way is good because ...,it allows to .....i know a complete tutorial on how to do it from a to z
