Does anybody happen to know how to make a node that converts a tiling square mat to a tiling hex mat? I'm able to do it in like photoshop, but for some reason I can't successfully make a node doing it despite knowing the steps. I'd just do my hex tiles outside of substance designer, but so far all my materials are being done in Substance Designer and I want to keep it that way.
Thanks in advance for any help.

What i'm trying to make is a hex filled with a texture that when tiled is seamless. Like how the hex at the end of the link is seamless when tiled
I don't really see how you couldn't do it - I did it in a few minutes following the tutorial you posted earlier.
Get the files here.
I made another version (with two methods included).
- Method 1 requires a "make it tile" filter and rotate the base map by 45°
- Method 2 does not need "make it tile" filter if the source already tiles and keeps the orientation but embeds more "pre-tiled" patterns..
If you look at the "hextile_filter" graph you'll see the multiple transformations, I then combined all the matrices to speed up the filter (and avoid quality degradation)

I gave it a go too, based on the first method. Get it here.

Never said it was perfect. :poly121:
