Hey Polycounters!
I recently started doing some hand painted textures. For someone who cant even draw this felt like a big undertaking, but I am making progress.
I just need some tips and advice on what and where to improve and who better to ask.
Here are a few pics.
Thanks in advance peepz!

That's looking pretty sweet! If the edges of the rock are as wonky as that, I think the cracks could look a little more organic so they show some minute wear and tear as opposed to mostly just sharp, glass-like fracture lines. Maybe one or two lines could have some depth and thickness variation to it as well so they're not overly uniform and reflect the age of the dark gaps between the individual bricks a little closer? I hope that helps!
Best regards,
Gavin
I totally see what you mean!
The cracks are more stylized than the bricks themselves.
You're very welcome buddy Looking back on it, I think the highlights on the cracks will probably not be too consistent in their lines and thickness. Otherwise you could also add some very subtle highlights on the upper-facing edges of bricks themselves if the cracks are picking up that much light.
Best,
Gavin
