Maya newbie question: Extrude wall along floor's edge

I'm using Maya 2016. I would like to have the wall profile along the room's edge with perfect corners. Right now I have 90° and 45° corners, so I've booleaned out small presets with those wall profile corners, and placed them to the corners and stiched verts up.

It's not very flexible and is quite time-consuming. Was wondering what's the proper way of doing something like that?

Make it the modular-ish way: have a wall you like, then place it along all the room's edges, and stretch them until they meet with the other walls, then merge where the walls intersect by snapping to vertex (using the V key).

    Or

Do it all at once by selecting all those border edges and extruding together. For the 45° I would eyeball it and for the 90° I would move/scale the walls along world axis.

    Or

For better eyeballing, use a reference mesh which you know has a 45° slope and place it where your final walls will be, so that when you extrude everything you can trace that reference slope.

    Or

    Use booleans.
