hm I don't think i would recognize him without reading the title, have you looked at the actual gnoll wow models ? Something about the posture and proportions seems not right, also your face seems drastically different
The instance hogger one has a very clear hyena face and the body is a lot less high and more cramped together,
and I really prefer the less extreme head
Yeah, that's why I put Laurel's painting of Hogger in the first post as main ref. Just personally wanted to go a little bit of a different direction than the old Gnoll models. It all comes down to personal preference I guess. But thanks for your opinion though! Appreciated.
Anyways, here's some progress on the armor aswell.
You're doing these in the style of Heroes of the Storm, right? It'd be cool to see some test renderings from the same perspective as in game, if that is the case. Also, where are his top teeth?
After a pretty long break because of Gamescom and other stuff, here's a new WIP!
This will be the first piece I make with Katia "Ybourykina" as mentor.
Learned a ton of stuff from her and finally started using 3D coat.
Still need to pose him and make a diffuse for his weapon.
Dude, just wow. Your other models have been pretty good lately but this is the first one that really nails that HotS style in my opinion. If you posted this on the subreddit I imagine many people thinking it was legit and not fan art. You have surely leveld up your skillset and I look forward to seeing more. Now you just need to make 2 different tints, a master skin, and an alternate release skin. =D
This is so bad ass, I love that you chose hogger I feel like I need to see some specular, especially in the metals. Maybe you could just fake it into the diffuse a little more if you're not working with a specular map. Nice work man

You have got some great work bud! Hah you think texturing is the hardest? The unwrapping is the worst :O
Looks great so far!
