Cartoony Flat Eye Rig Question (scene file)

sup count. I've been working on a flat cartoony eyeball rig for a character I am rigging and would like to share it with you guys. However, there is a problem with the scaling and inherit transforms.

It's a great technique but the guy doesn't really explain how he's able to scale it correctly, nor does he scale it at all actually. So I'm stumped.

The curves all scale appropriately but the beveled geo of the eye wigs out and scales weirdly.

I get that some parenting issue is causing the double transformation of the beveled geo, but I don't know which one. I've tried turning on and off different nodes but the issue doesn't seem to get fixed. So I'm uploading the scene here for you guys to both use for your own stuff and to help me out with this.

There are channels for expressions but I did not wire them up with SDK yet.
