Looks like the mesh wasn't exported correctly, make sure you've only got one meshgroup before the export, and triangulate the mesh as well just to be safe!
No, it doesn't seem to have fixed it. I ended up working with the cube preview, but I started another mesh and made sure it was only one meshgroup and I'm still getting a mirror.
I'm not sure what I did right this time but here's what I did:
Built the model as a single mesh
Reset the position and rotation to 0
Reparented the mesh to a new box object
Removed the box mesh from the object
Exported as OBJ using these settings found in another thread
While I'm happy that the preview is rendering correctly now, I seriously hope future versions of 3DO will be less picky, since nothing else in my workflow has had any issues with my meshes.
Glad it finally worked for you and for your feedback. We're continuously working on improving the SUITE and we will definitely take a look at the OBJ pipeline.
I don't know if it's Max or it's 3Do, but I've got a suspicion it's partially both. Max has some issues with normals and editable poly type. You can check to see if you have corrupted(?) normals by adding an edit poly modifier and see if your normals(smoothing) changes. The box trick fixes this, and sometimes Reset X-Form doesn't.
Something I just thought of is to open up a known bad obj in notepad and see what the normals look like.

"Box trick" Steps:
Reset X-Form *sometimes* works, but not always.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Hey, you found my settings. I'm glad you found them helpful.
