My wood projection substance node is now live on the Unity asset store. The first 5 replies to this thread get a free voucher. Substance Designer 5 is required for this node.
2/5 Left. To sell an archive on the Unity asset store you have to prepare a demo scene for the substance and create a PDF explaining the process of using it. This particular substance was a little different since it's not designed to be used in Unity so it had to be clearly marked as such.
I'm traveling in the pacific northwest atm, but I can give a more detailed help when I get home.
Thanks very much. I just want to make sure if I start trying to sell my archives that I do so properly and through all the right channels. Appreciate your time and info.
Cheers~
Thanks. I'd like to add it to the store that Allegorithmic is working on when it's ready. Till then I'm probably going to keep it on the Unity asset store and maybe the Unreal marketplace (if it gets approved). For me at least, it's a lot easier to maintain the product on one or two stores.
Thanks for pointing out gumroad, they seem to charge a lot less than other stores. Turbosquid wants too much and I don't really know of any others.
Edit: 1 more left. Also, in order to use the vouchers you have to access the Unity asset store through an open project. If you don't already have Unity, it's completely free for personal use.

Yeah Gumroad seems to be a popular choice for many sellers of digital content. An alternative is "selz.com". I'm sure there are others like it but I'm only familiar with those two.
I'm playing around with procedural displacements on the wood projected models. You can see how expensive this node is to run as I'm moving the shape around.
The Pixel Processor get some nice optimizations on the Directx 10 engine (OpenGl engine on mac will come later). So this perf boost will only be available within SD as Unity/Unreal uses the CPU engine.
You can expect this kind of performances on very complex functions:
There is a pretty substantial improvement in performance, but there seems to have been some changes in the way things are calculated behind the scenes.
We would need the sbs to find the cause. Would it be possible to share it with me (privately). Also, would it be possible to compare with the results in 5.2 at 2K resolution using the GPU engine, and in 5.2 at 2K using the CPU engine ?
The solution to the bug related to the 5.2 upgrade is to select the projection color node in each example graph and reset all of the parameters to the default value. You can then reassign each parameter as needed.

Finally found where the voucher slot is. It's in user/account setting.
Enter the voucher and viola access is granted (

Yeah, I would think at checkout as a payment option to enter the voucher number (
I think I have one or two more vouchers for the Unity store if anyone wants them.
Awesome! Glad I could be of help.
