Job Description
Our Senior Technical Artist will improve and secure our art production pipelines and mentor our art team in the usage of new workflows for our upcoming game, Prodigy.
By working closely with our Art Director and Technical Director, you will ensure the game delivers its maximum potential while staying within GPU/CPU budgets and respecting our deadlines. This position is a vital pillar of the production.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain efficient workflows and tools for the art team
Recognize issues in existing pipelines and identify solutions
Elaborate and develop the direction set by the Art Director
Mentor and monitor our art team, both onsite and with our outsourcing artists
Handle shaders and tools creation, day-to-day game optimization and planning
Debug and fix art assets within the game
Act as a link between Programming and Art teams
Assist with CPU and GPU performance profiling and optimization
Requirements
5+ years as a professional game artist or equivalent experience
A portfolio reflecting high-quality game art, shaders and scripted tools
Fundamental understanding of art and animation pipelines for video games
Extensive experience with Unreal Engine
Technical proficiency in UE shader creation and Kismet/Blueprint
Understanding of Physically Based Rendering (PBR) art pipelines for Xbox One, PS4 and PC
Proficiency with softwares for content production across multiple disciplines including polygon modeling, UV editing, texturing, rigging, animation, rendering, GUI and post-processing (3DSMax, Maya, Modo, Zbrush, Photoshop, etc.)
Coding, workflow tool and script experience (C++, C#, Javascript, Python, etc.)
Capacity to seek out and fix weak points in existing processes
Ability to manage and mentor artists
Ability to remain calm and confident under the pressure of production milestones
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both on a technical and creative basis
Passion for video games and technical challenges
Pluses
Multiple shipped titles as a Technical Artist or equivalent
Experience in the supervision of artists through a creation process
Experience with Xbox One and/or PS4 optimization and debugging
Experience with outsourcing
Experience as a Technical Artist on UE4
Experience as a Cinematics/Camera Artist
Experience as a VFX Artist on UE4
Experience in creating user interfaces
Knowledge of Alienbrain
Knowledge of Mantis
