Long story short, I graduated college four years ago, made a wrong turn career wise, and have been heavily slacking in the art department for the past 3 years. So the point here is, I got a lot of rust that needs to be shaken off, edges that need sharpening, and other metaphors meaning I need to get gooder at art again if I am to have a chance in the industry when I'm free from current obligations. To that extent, criticism is very much welcome.
And lastly, to start things off (an oxymoron if I ever heard one...) here's a golem character I've been dabbling around with for a while I want to eventually make into a 3D model.

Did some modeling of that golem dude. Still got some work to do on him, but figured I'd post up some progress.
Cheap Lego knock-off, anyone?
Started re-learning how to make a rig and skin a mesh. Kinda miss 3Ds Max now...
Anyway, still a WIP. Got a little bored after a whole day of rigging, hence the pose.
WIP
Don't mind me, just testing. Namely Blender sculpting, Unreal splines and displacement+tessellation, ya know, learning some cool stuff I've missed out on.
WIP of a firey temple with a froggy motif...Why frogs? Because fire frog several posts up.
Shopping List:
-Better Fires
-Spec and Normal everything
-Redo Wall Textures (those be old... I think I painted them, but can't remember it's been so long.)
-Improve lava
-Stuff
-Cowbell
Yep, still doing the same thing-a-ling
Started dabling around with lighting(still got plenty to learn there), revamped the lava pool(not yet happy with it), and redid a few textures(meh).
Oh yeah, also threw together a second chamber for more fiery goodness
Another project I've been working on to get comfortable with 3D tools and such.
Retried a few things here and there, threw some details around, and decided on steel-toe sandals rather than normal ones as in the original drawing(because safety). Think I've got the overall detail to a point where I'm fairly happy/not terribly disappoined with. Think it's about time I move past the sculpting.
