Hi, I'm not that familiar to portfolio websites. However, according to a friend here, It is much better to have the 2D and 3D on a separate website especially if you have a personal website:)
I don't know the 100% answer but I would think for 3d artists, having some of both could be beneficial on one site. Considering how often you see the verbiage, "2d/concepting skills a plus", in adds for 3d artists.
For a role as a 3D Artist it can be very beneficial to show strong 3D and 2D, so I would say have some of both on your website. However, your 3D work will always be the most important and you should only show 2D if it is of a very good quality.
As others have said, as long as the quality of work is good then yes. Just make sure to categorize/separate 3D from 2D. Don't just throw them all together in the same section.
I had the complicated idea of keeping my main site as my personal blogs and such, but keep stuff like 2d.iadagraca.com or 3d.iadagraca.com (which i probably would just link to sketchfab.me for now) . Those two I would just give to people looking for portfolio. It's easy enough to set up.

I'd keep them on one site but make sure your primary area of interest is the first thing people see and anything else is secondary.
