W.I.P Fairytale sign

Right, I haven't used this site in a while as I haven't had much to upload, but I'd like as much advice and help as you guys can give me! Also, with the W.I.P sign, give me whatever criticisms you like!
I like to work in low poly, I kind of want to aim at mobile games or low poly Indie style games. If its too low poly to look good then lemme know, also if there is any limit or texture size I'm to work at, please oh please tell me! I'd like to do my best!
It's meant to be a fairy tale type of scene, I don't know what type of textures to use, it was a random decision to make this as it'd be fun. The wierd little thing next to the rocks is meant to be a lantern, which I'd also like to know how to make it glow an inviting yellow with sorta dirty glass and bake the textures onto the things around it. I'll also be adding in planes for alpha maps of grass, but is there anything else to put in and how to improve this?

With something like this, you might save a TON of design time by painting out your scene first, especially if you're planning to only use a diffuse texture. Texturing on the fly like this forces you to think prop per prop inadvertently, instead of looking at the whole scene all the time.

I was thinking that, but I'm seriously not the best with concepts and planning, I screw up and get put off, but I still don't even have the whole scene planned through in my head. yeahh that's true, I don't need a spec or bump for this one.I must say I didn't think of that, thank you!
