Hey guys!
Just finished my first low poly model (Mjolnir - Thor's Hammer) and would love to get some feedback/criticism on it. I'm aware that I could've saved quite a lot more UV space and it's something I'll keep in mind for future works.
Here's the
concept I worked from (and yes, unfortunately this is the only size I could find). The concept art is from a game called Path of Exile if anyone was wondering.
Thank you for your time!

My only crit is... well tbh I don't have any lol
@3dReaper - Not sure what you mean, but thanks for viewing/commenting.
My only crit is that the handle could benefit your model more if it looked more like leather... Thor's pop culture style is quite leather and metal orientated I believe... so it would be a nice blend from metal to leather and then back to metal as right now the handle is quite glossy and looks like it should be painted black metal? Almost like a screw section as well so it looks like you'd probably cut your hands on those extrusions but the adjustment in the roughness map should soften that out.
Would love to know your pipeline on this though (Y) did you model all the details or did you sculpt them? is there a HP you can show us or did you gen the shapes in nDo?
I also agree with "Kid" ^^
The leather handle currently doesn't quite read as leather yet. It is just as shiny as the hammer currently.
All of the fine details were sculpted in. Normal and cavity maps were generated from the high poly in xNormal. The normal map was then used to produce an ambient occlusion map. These three maps along with a colour map were then fed into nDo to produce the diffuse, specular and gloss maps. Finally, hand painted adjustments were made, with the final result being presented in Marmoset Toolbag.
Will look into improving the handle and leather - two of the things I was unsure about too. Thanks.
