Trying to learn to draw characters

I am trying to learn how to draw characters and this is my first real attempt. I have only drawn some 2d-textures before and have never really given characters a real attempt because i didn't know how to do it and felt lost when painting. But i spent a few hours on this and any thoughts on what to improve is greatly appreciated!
