Hi! So I'm trying to make a Wind Waker-esque water shader using ShaderFX for Max 2016, but I can't seem to get the opacity to work. I've hooked the A channel of my chosen texture to the Opacity input:

But the part that's supposed to be transparent is showing up as black. The help pages I found say that you need to check "Opacity" in the Properties tab for the Material node, but that doesn't appear to exist for me, there's a Gamma checkbox there instead. What gives? :poly117:

Transparency does not work properly for it when your viewport is set to "realistic" mode and only works when in "shaded" mode.
The "opacity" checkbox is old information and should not have been in the docs.
The only thing you have to do is connect a float value to the "Opacity" input.
Edit: I just tabbed into 3ds after doing something else, and the opacity was working! Then it literally faded into black again before my eyes. I'm so confused.
